Salewa
Salewa, a legacy of craftsmanship for 80 years
Salewa was founded in 1935 in Germany. Initially, the company specialised in leather goods. In 1955, Salewa developed its first hiking backpack, designed for the expedition of Andine Hermann Huber in the Andes.
Over the years, the brand diversified and specialised in manufacturing mountain sports equipment.
The eagle, the brand's iconic logo, was adopted in the 1980s. It reflects the quality and performance level of the products. Many items, featuring certain models of mountaineering crampons or ice screws, remain best-sellers and references in the mountain sports sector today.
Salewa offers a range of clothing and equipment for all your favourite mountain sports. Fleece jackets, trousers, shoes, and ski poles: Salewa products combine technicality and performance.
Since the 2000s, the brand has established a significant presence in the mountain sports world. It ranks as one of the market leaders, designing increasingly innovative and technical products each season.
Salewa: technical and high-performance products
Salewa continually strives to create high-performance and innovative products. The brand has also partnered with notable collaborators to develop its offerings. In 1990, the Helium helmet was launched, becoming the lightest and most efficient helmet for ski touring or climbing.
In 2005, Salewa specialised in the development and design of mountain footwear. Its expertise and knowledge now proudly position it as a leader in the sector. The brand underwent a rebranding in 2015, showcasing a new logo and increasingly innovative and stylish products. Salewa has committed to becoming a pioneer in the world of mountaineering.
It collaborates with numerous renowned climbers to test products under real conditions. Salewa's primary mission is to develop quality gear for all ambitious climbers.
