Climbing Slings & Cords
Slings, straps, cords, they will always come to your rescues
During a belay at Buoux, for a break on the via ferrata of the Grande Fistoire, having a sling or strap at hand is the instinct of the climber and the rope worker. Useful for a multitude of tasks, they will serve you for your belays, anchoring, or other machard for your descents. During your suspended breaks, a self-locking knot will quickly reassure you. You can secure yourself in no time and self-belay to free your hands. They will naturally find their place attached to your harness by a carabiner.
Static, dynamic, shock absorber… Choose with care!
For your rope ascents, descents on rappel, or your next via ferrata, use the appropriate equipment for each situation. While elastic slings and energy absorbers are ideal for catching your falls on via ferrata, a static cord will be suitable for anchoring yourself with confidence. Make sure to check the strength of a strap before using it, and be careful not to overload it or subject it to dynamic shock if it is not designed for that. Improper use of a strap or cord will wear it out quickly and put you in danger. Take care of your equipment and protect it; the natural wear of your gear should alert you before it breaks, so remember to check and replace it regularly.
